What is a debit card and who can apply
A debit card allows you to shop online, in-store and overseas - using your own money. It needs to be linked to a TSB transactional account, so you’ll need to have an existing account, or you can apply to open one.
To apply for a TSB Debit Mastercard you must be 15 years old or over. If you are between 15-17 years old, you’ll need a parent or guardian to sign a paper debit application form that can be found in-branch at your local TSB.
An EFTPOS card is another option, but it can't be used to buy things online.
ACCESSIBILITY
Braille on our cards
Putting customers first is at the heart of our philosophy, so to help our vision impaired customers identify which card they’re using our TSB Debit Mastercard’s have ‘TSB D’ printed in braille on them.
Our new TSB Debit Mastercard has a vertical design, so the braille is printed on the lower left side, to help customers identify the orientation of their card for tapping or inserting the chip.
HOW TO
Dispute a transaction
If you find a transaction on your account that you don’t believe you made, you can dispute it - you have up to 60 days from the transaction date to submit your dispute. You must dispute any domestic EFTPOS and domestic ATM transactions with the relevant merchant.
