Why might we ask you for more information?

New Zealand is part of a worldwide commitment to ensure criminals can’t use banks and other financial and legal institutions to finance crime. As part of this commitment, we’re required by the New Zealand Government to verify your identity before you join us and from time to time during your banking relationship with us. 

This process is called Customer Due Diligence (CDD). 

From time to time, we may ask you to confirm details such as your: 

  • Full name
  • Date of birth
  • Residential address
  • Source of funds or wealth

This helps us meet our legal obligations and keep banking safe for everyone. 

Like all New Zealand banks, TSB must comply with the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009 (AML/CFT Act). To help us do this, we've partnered with AMLHUB, who may contact you on our behalf. 

How it works 

If we need updated information, AMLHUB may contact you on behalf of TSB. 

They'll ask you a few questions to confirm your details or the source of your money. Once you've provided the requested information, the process is complete. If we need anything else, we’ll get in touch.
