Step 2
Let us know you want help switching by calling us on 0800 872 226 - our friendly team is here to help.
We’ll ask you to complete and return a switching request form, which will ask for details including your current bank's name, your account name and number and the date you want to switch. We’ll also need to know if you have any payment instructions and information – such as direct debits, automatic payments and saved payees – you’d like moved over. Once this is completed, your current bank will send the information you’ve authorised directly to us.
Step 3
Once we receive the information from your current bank, we’ll work with you to set up your payment instructions and saved payees. If you've asked to bring over your account balance, your funds will be transferred into your new TSB account when your switch takes place.
Things to be aware of
- You can continue using your current bank account until the day the switch occurs. Your existing payment instructions will remain active until this date.
- We’ll notify direct debit authorities about your account change, but you should double check to ensure all your direct debits have been correctly moved over.
- You should share your new account details with your employer and anyone else who pays you.
- If you’re closing your current account, you may wish to request your account transaction history before you do.
- Switching banks can take a minimum of five working days.
