TSB's gambling block

We aim to action all gambling blocks within three working days. Blocks can be actioned by our team during our business hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am-5pm.  

The gambling block will only block card-related gambling transactions. Once the block is applied, if you try to use your card with a merchant that uses a gambling merchant code, the transaction will be declined.    

Note: We rely on information provided to us to identify gambling transactions through a correctly classified merchant code, so some gambling transactions may not be blocked.      

The block will not stop account-to-account direct transfers online.

Gambling blocks are linked to TSB cards and can be applied to any TSB Debit or Credit Mastercard under your own name. Because joint accounts have cards that are managed separately (e.g. they have different numbers), if you have a joint account, the block won’t affect the card of anyone else on the account.

No, the gambling block has no impact on your credit rating.

The gambling block will stay on until you decide to turn it off. However, once the gambling block is in place, there is a minimum period of six weeks before you can request a removal of the block. After the six-week period, you can request to have the block removed using the same options as requesting the block. We’ll action the request within three working days, Monday to Friday, 8.30am-5pm.

As the gambling block is applied at an individual card level, if your card is cancelled, the block will also end. A new block will need to be applied to your new card. If your card is cancelled and re-issued, you’ll need to let us know if you want the block added to your new card.
